DELTA Scholars - Apply Now! NASW-PA is proud to announce that the the Diversity & Equity Leadership, Training & Advancement (DELTA) Scholars program application is now open! NASW-PA will be selecting 10 students for this program, who will commit to certain duties and obligations in exchange, including volunteerism and monthly check-ins. The program will be open to current MSW or BSW students (graduation date no earlier than 2024) from underrepresented population groups, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or rural residency. Purpose: The DELTA (Diversity & Equity Leadership Training & Advancement) Program serves the dual purpose of advancing the careers and leadership skills of social work students from underrepresented populations and energizing NASW-PA through an infusion of new diverse leadership. Eligibility: To be eligible for the DELTA Scholars program, a candidate must be a member of a racial or ethnic minority group, a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, a person with a disability, or a resident of a rural area who is currently enrolled at an accredited social work program and eligible for membership as a student member of NASW-PA. Current members and non-members are eligible to apply. Candidates must have demonstrated professional, volunteer, or civic/community leadership experience and be committed to fully engage in all DELTA scholar activities. Up to ten (10) applicants will be selected based on the qualities and skills that they bring to the association. Ten mentors will be solicited from the current Board of Directors and committee leadership. These NASW-PA leaders will be paired with a DELTA Scholar for a one-year period. |
