CALL FOR PROPOSALS! 2024 NASW-PA Annual Conference October 13-16, 2024 The NASW-PA Annual Conference attracts over 400 attendees from across Pennsylvania and surrounding states for three and a half days of intensive learning, connection, and networking opportunities. Our presenters play a vital role in the success of our annual conference, sharing their knowledge, experiences, and expertise across a wide variety of different topics. NASW-PA is now soliciting proposals for presentations at our next annual conference, to be held in-person at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Pocono Manor, PA from October 13 - 16, 2024. This conference will feature keynotes, plenary sessions, and workshops. Some sessions will be live; we anticipate several sessions will be offered in an online format for those who wish to participate remotely, and others on-demand. We invite proposals for all formats. The 2024 NASW-PA Annual Conference will explore the theme: "Social Workers (Em)Power" We are interested in receiving proposals for advanced clinical, macro, or administrative interventions that can be applied to address the impact of both collective and personal traumatic events on clients and communities served. Highlights of presentations requested on our 2023 participant evaluations and/or sought by leadership include: · SUICIDE PREVENTION (WITH DIFFERENT POPULATION GROUPS) · SUPERVISION/LCSW SUPERVISION BEST PRACTICES · MACRO PRACTICE/LEGISLATIVE & POLITICAL SOCIAL WORK · CRITICAL CONVERSATIONS & SOCIAL JUSTICE IN WORKPLACES & COMMUNITIES · VETERANS/MILITARY SOCIAL WORK · SELF-CARE TO AVOID DEPRESSION/BURNOUT/VICARIOUS TRAUMA · REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE/ABORTION ACCESS/WOMENS ISSUES · MEDICAL SOCIAL WORK – CHALLENGES/ETHICS · ELDER CARE/AGEISM/END-OF-LIFE · LGBTQIA TOPICAL SEMINARS/GENDER-AFFIRMING CARE · TRAUMA-INFORMED WORKPLACES & ENVIRONMENTS · ETHICS IN THE WORKPLACE · PRESENTATIONS GEARED TOWARDS SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS · SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER We encourage you to share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues through 30-minute, 1.5-, and 3-hour workshops. You will not only receive maximum exposure by presenting at the statewide conference, but you will have the opportunity to engage and empower thought leadership among your social work colleagues. We are specifically interested in new presentations, ideas and innovations that have not yet been presented at social work conferences or in professional spaces. The deadline for proposals is February 2, 2024. All submissions must come through our online submission process. The selection process is a peer review process. Please note there is a limit of 3 proposal submissions per presenter(s) and a maximum of 2 proposal acceptances per presenter(s). |
