Integrating Spiritually-Oriented CBT into Practice with Chronically Ill Persons Living with a chronic health condition involves a progressive spiritual and psychosocial adjustment process that reshapes persons’ core life assumptions, identity, and relationships. Drawing on the Transactional Model of Stress and Coping, this interactive, case-based course outlines diverse strategies for advancing spiritual well-being to strengthen meaning-making and purpose fulfillment while minimizing symptoms of pain and fatigue. The course describes best practices in religion and spiritual assessment and treatment, with particular attention to appropriately integrating Spiritually-Oriented CBT. Consideration of practical methods for enhancing spiritual coping interweaves across the discussion. Learning Objectives: - Discuss the psychosocial-spiritual experiences reshaping persons’ way of life in relation to assessment and treatment.
