Integrating Spiritual Ecomaps into Practice with Terminally-Ill Persons Nearing death is as much a part of life as living. Navigating a terminal condition involves a progressive spiritual adjustment process that reshapes persons’ core life assumptions, identity, and relationships. Persons often seek peace, hope, and purpose into the final moment of living. Drawing on the spiritual component of Corr’s Task-Based Model of Coping with Dying, this interactive, case-based course discusses the use of spiritual ecomaps to empower well-being and strengthen meaning-making and purpose fulfillment while reducing emphasis on physical symptoms, including pain. The course emphasizes best practices in religion and spiritual assessment and treatment, with particular attention to appropriate integration of spiritually oriented therapeutic approaches. Consideration of diverse strategies and practical methods for enhancing spiritual coping interweave across the discussion. Learning Objectives: - Discuss terminally-ill persons unique spiritual adjustment process in relation to assessment and treatment.
