In an age of instant gratification and constant change, helping youth build perseverance and a belief in their ability to grow is more important than ever. A growth mindset can empower youth to overcome challenges, while the risk factors of trauma and adverse childhood experiences can be mitigated by the protective factors that build resilience and develop grit. Resilience is directly related to well-being and this workshop will examine the latest research from psychology and neuroscience on resilience, mindset and grit. Resources and practical tools to foster grit and a growth mindset will be reviewed.   Learning Objectives:   Participants will look at the concepts of grit and growth mindset to understand their impact on youth development.
