8:30am - 12pm Values, Morals and Ethics: Challenging Choices for Social Workers


Abstract of Session: Examining our own values in relation to professional, group and societal values aids social workers in making ethical decisions. Recognizing the ethical schools of thought provides social workers with the awareness and tools to deal with ethical dilemmas in practice. Ethical decision guidelines will be provided. 3CEUs in ethics required for license renewal.

Trainer: Susan McDonald,Ph.D.,L.S.W. is the Social Work Field Director at Misericordia University. She has taught social work for 12 years and has maintained a private practice for 14 years. Her area of expertise is trauma and resiliency.


12:30 - 3:30pm Internet Ethics : Social Media and your License.


Trainers: Ron Simon, LCSW, ACSW former NASW-PA executive Director currently employed by    the Children Service Center of the Wyoming Valley. Ron also maintains a private practice.

Matt Fino, LCSW, ACSW , NASW-PA N.E. Division Representative, Matt has 26 years of experience in the child welfare and juvenile justice field.  He is currently employed by the PA State Department of Human Services.
