The person-in- [a warming] environment: Social work ethics and climate change Part 1: July 29 Part 2: August 26 Facilitators: Chris Rich, LCSW, ACSW Marilyn Johnson, LCSW Join NASW-PA for this Lunch and Learn on environmental justice and social work ethics. The NASW Code of Ethics calls for social workers to engage in issues that affect the broader society. The NASW Code of Ethics encourages public participation, responding to emergencies, and advocacy for the general welfare of society. Climate change poses a significant threat to people around the world. It poses a more significant threat to marginalized populations. Social workers uphold their ethical responsibilities by advocating for policies and practices that can create sustainable communities, limit damage to the environment by human activity, and help people adapt to a changing climate. Consider joining us for this discussion on what we can be doing individually and as a profession to promote sustainable practices and promote ethical social work responsibility to the broader society.
