We Rise International Presents Taking Care of Ourselves for Once: A Self-Care, Trauma & Ethics Training for Social Workers and Mental Health Professionals As social work and mental health professionals we know self-care is important to our personal and professional well-being. But in the busyness of professional work and life we often struggle to prioritize it, focusing first on promoting the well-being of others (clients, family). Prioritizing self-care is a real and legitimate struggle. Yet our health, mental health, and social work practice can suffer (reducing ability to meet ethical principles of integrity and competence) without effective self-care. This training will help social workers understand the connections between trauma, self-care, and ethics, and help each participant develop an actionable plan for effective self-care.
