Act 31 and Pennsylvania's Child Welfare System ~ 3ces

Presented by: Kristie Jo King, LSW, EOLD

–Describe Pennsylvania’s Child Welfare System  , distinguishing between Child Protective Services and General Protective Services

.–Define what constitutes   physical abuse, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and perpetrator according to the Pennsylvania Law, PA Act 31 of 2014

.–Understand the exclusions from child abuse.–Identify  indicators of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect in both victims and perpetrators

.–Clearly understand their role as a mandated reporter in a professional capacity

.–Compare and contrast mandated reporters and permissive reporters.

–Describe what constitutes "reasonable cause to suspect"  and situations in which mandated reporters must report suspected cases of child abuse or maltreatment.


Ethical Challenges with Integrated Professional Practice ~ 3ces

Explore ethical considerations within context of integrated professional practice model.

Strengthen ethical practice working within integrated professional practice model

NASW Code of Ethics with be compared/contrasted with Codes from other disciplines
