The Delaware County DUI Training was organized to showcase different systems the county has in place to manage incidents of DUI. The format of the morning session will consist of three panel discussions, representing all specialty courts in Delaware County which include, Mental Health & Veterans Court, Treatment Court, and Second Chance Court; each panel will have 45 minutes to speak and 15 minutes of question and answer. The afternoon format will consist of short lectures from different agency’s in the county; First, Crozer-Keystone Health System will speak on behalf of their First Steps Treatment Center’s program. Second, Elwyn will speak about their Mobile Crisis Team, and the full scale of the services they provide. Lastly, to end the training, two professional from the field will discuss their personal success stories of mental health and substance abuse disorders, and how these experiences shaped their lives and now careers. This training will benefit social workers because they will leave having a better understanding of the systems Delaware County has in place to aid those who have mental health and/or substance use disorder paired with DUI; this knowledge will help social workers better assist their clients to recovery.
