Good Shepherd Mediation Program Presents:

Elder Mediation Training

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court recently adopted new Orphans’ Court Rules that include a provision for mediation. The new statewide Orphans’ Court Rules will became effective on 9/1/2016. This comprehensive mediator training program is appropriate for mediators who want to refresh their basic mediation skills while adding elder and estates issues to their repertoire, and estates and elder law attorneys who want to learn to mediate or represent clients in mediation. The trainers use a combination of role-play, lecture, simulation, discussion and videotapes of actual mediation. The curriculum will include process skills, how elder mediation supports older adults, their families and caregivers as they engage in difficult conversations about issues that occur as a result of life cycle events, changes in physical and cognitive status, and/or loss often associated with aging; and techniques and issues specifically related to estates and trust administration
