Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation: Which Patients Benefit Most and Why? 

This one-hour session will discuss the benefits of acute inpatient reha-bilitation for medically compromised patients who have one or more of 13 conditions delineat-ed in the Medicare 60% rule. The assessment of patient outcomes in Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRF) after discharge will be compared to the outcomes in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, Amputation and/or Orthopedic conditions. The effects of robotics on these patients will be discussed and various robotic techniques highlighted. Several case studies will be presented..
