Central Division Presents:

Long-Term Care Planning

Learn about the rules concerning capacity, legal documents and how you and your patients can plan effectively to deal with the effects of incapacity. Johanna Byrd, NASW-PA’s executive director will be present to open this event, provide NASW updates and answer questions from members before the presenter begins.

Learning Objectives: 
To Identify how legal capacity and medical capacity differ and how those differences cause issues for healthcare providers and seniors alike
- To define legal capacity, what does it mean to be incapacitated, and who makes that determination?
 - To Understand the importance and need of legal documents including Durable POA and Advanced Directives particularly when dementia is a factor
