Southeast/Philadelphia Division & The University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2)  Presents:

Social Work Month 2016 Event:

Social Worker Safety: A Non-Negotiable Investment in Our Practice

Social Work can be dangerous, both emotionally and at times, physically.  In recent years, high profile cases of attacks on social workers have become almost routine.  Around the country in the field or in their offices, social workers have frequently been assaulted, robbed, stalked, injured and killed in the course of their work.  Those who survive these assaults are traumatized, and their peers often experience vicarious tramatization. The purpose of the this year's Social Work Month Event is to highlight ways that we can, as a profession, support ourselves and our colleagues, prevent injury through skill building, and advocate for safe practices in the workplace.
