Eastern Division of NASW-PA Presents: 


CE Marathon

9 - 11am ~ Portraits of Professional Caregivers
 (2ceu) by John Weaver, LCSW

This presentation will focus on self-care for caregivers. Participants will first view a 70 min. documentary film 
Portraits of Professional Caregivers: Their Passion, Their Pain, which illustrates the risks caregivers of all kinds face from ongoing exposure to secondary trauma.  Following the film, one of the caregivers features in the film will make a brief presentation and lead a panel discussion around options for enhancing individual and organizational care and support for caregivers.


11:15am - 1:15pm ~ Child Abuse: Recognition & Reporting (2ceu) by Dr. Kathleen Boland

This training fulfills the requirment for social workers and other licensed professionals to obtain 2 hours of DHS (DPW) and professional board approved continuing educaiton on current child abuse recognition and reporting requirements.


1:30 - 3:30pm ~ Embracing our Social Work Values, Morals, & Ethics (2 Ethics) by Christina Gigler, LCSW & Hope Horowitz, LSW

This workshop will allow for opportunity to explore how to embrace the nature of the social work profession via the ethical challenges that are displayed to social workers each dya.  Values in relation to professional, group and societal challenges can aid social workers in making ethical decision.s Recognizing the ethical schools of thought provides social workers with the awareness and tools to deal with ethical dilemmas in practice.  Ethical decision making guidelines will be provided.
