Good Shepherd Mediation Program Presents:

Elder Dispute Practices

Facilitating elder disputes is a growing area of practice attracting family mediators who want to expand their services and be sensitive to the special issues involving older adults. Families with aging relatives face difficult conversations about issues that occur as a result of life cycle events, changes in physical and cognitive status and/or loss often associated with aging.  This three-day intensive training will orient mediators to the kinds of conflicts associated with aging and the special practice issues that arise when working with the older population, their families and care providers. The processes that will be addressed include mediation, conflict coaching and family group conferencing (facilitated dialogues with multiple parties). The training format will combine lecture, video analysis, role play and discussion.
