Familylinks Presents:

Technology in the Workplace,
Legal & Ethical Ramifications

Give most people access to the Internet and they will spend several times a day checking their email, their Facebook profile, update their Twitter account and their LinkedIn account. While these technologies offer many opportunities for increased professional communication, professional roles and boundaries can often become blurred. Often, the blurring of roles can lead to legal and ethical violations. In this training, we will explore the advantages and disadvantages of using texting and social media in the workplace with an emphasis on how new technology may blur the professional and personal roles. Considerations that need to be made when developing policy around the use of such technology in the work place will be discussed.
