Social workers are uniquely trained and ethically mandated to advocate. We understand the needs of our client populations and understand the powerful affects of policy decisions. It is essential that legislators hear the needs of our populations and our profession. This program will review our ethical requirement to participate in advocacy efforts, include the perspective of a current state representative, teach strategies in effective advocacy, and explain our current practice protection bill and how it affects clinical social workers specifically.
